Terms of reference for recruitment a casual agronomist to support farmer’s cooperatives
Project background Women for Women Rwanda (WfW-Rwanda) is a nonprofit national NGO legally established in July 2020. The organization is taking the mantle of by WfWI, an International NGOS that has operated in Rwanda to serve the most vulnerable women affected by the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. The prolonged period of peace and development in Rwanda has paved the way for the establishment of a new national organization, Women for Women Rwanda, as Women for Women International shifts its focus to serve in other conflict-affected countries. WfW-Rwanda builds alliances with communities and institutions to help design and deliver innovative programs that address inevitable challenges faced by women within our communities.
About the role of casual agronomist Women for Women Rwanda under “Enabling environments for successful female entrepreneurship in Rwanda project”, realized that women micro-entrepreneurs are successful in negotiating contract with buyers/exporters but still unable to consistently delivery minimum quantities for their produces to export, therefore there is a great need to guide them through strategies to aggregate quantities and quality that increases their negotiating power.
Specifically, Women for Women Rwanda intends to train 280 women agribusiness microentrepreneurs on good agriculture practices and targets mostly women cooperatives with members who graduated from our programs, specifically those cooperatives who plan to start exporting fresh horticultural produces. For this reason, Women for Women Rwanda is recruiting an Agronomist to offer training on good agriculture practices and requirements for exportation to women project beneficiaries.
