Background And Purpose Of The Assigment:
TWFP has defined a new Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2019-2023. This defines 4 broad Strategic Outcomes (SOs) which are mandated to address specific needs to tackle specific needs. Activities under each strategic outcome are guided by information management systems that are designed to improve the implementation of the support provided to ensure efficiency and effectiveness while also tracking progress towards the goals SO specific outline goals. WFP Rwanda Country Office (CO) aims to continuously enhance its operational information management so that it not only meets WFP corporate requirements but also helps enhancing performance. In order to achieve this, The Country Office hosted a digital analysis mission with an intent of having a single view of all technology initiatives and how they support the CO CSP, and capture pre-requisites, risks and metrics. The digital roadmap and plan to address prerequisites has been approved and ready to be implemented to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of BTO, TEC unit, the intern will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Assist in identifying how IT can enhance business performance using the current systems and leverage digital solution
2. Assist in collecting and collating data, conduct basic analysis to support the development of digital solution
3. Assist in updating technical systems documentation for developed digital solutions
4. Assist in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
5. Resolve users’ queries, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered, and accurate information is provided.
6. Any other duties as required.
standard minimum qualifications
Education:
A university degree in Information Technology or any related field preferably supplemented by additional studies/trainings in the field of database management and data analytics
Experience:
Not a mandatory requirement, but internship in similar capacities would be a plus
Knowledge &Skills:
• Good understanding of database management, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft Power apps
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power apps skills are an asset
• Good understanding of WAN/LAN networking and operating systems
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
Languages:
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an asset.

Background And Purpose Of The Assigment:
Rwanda is a low-income, least-developed country with a population of 11.2 million people, of whom 52 percent are women and girls and 48 percent men and boys. Since the 1994 genocide, the Government of Rwanda has consistently and rather successfully pursued development objectives, but many challenges persist including in food and nutrition.
WFP Rwanda helps the government enhance the national capacity to manage and innovate, but also to tackle more immediate humanitarian needs and provide a path to self-reliance, ensuring no one is left behind while facilitating national ownership. WFP is increasingly transitioning from humanitarian action into development and humanitarian nexus efforts to create links and make greater impact.
The primary mission of the Monitoring & Evaluation unit is to continuously enhance operational information management and monitoring for WFP Office, not only to meet corporate requirements but to promote evidence-based decision making. The successful candidate will contribute to the current field monitoring activities through generating data for evaluative purposes and corporate reporting, as well as for further evidence-building at all organizational levels.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)
Under the guidance of the Head of VAM/M&E Unit, the primary duties of the intern shall include the following:
• Provide monthly process monitoring updates (planned vs actual visits) and reports.
• Provide input into the Monthly Country Brief.
• Support in calculating performance indicators for different programs.

Deliverables At The End Of The Contract:

• Ensured data quality and data timeliness for the corporate monitoring systems, regular monitoring and data reconciliation exercise from M&E unit’s side are met.
• Participated and supervised monitoring surveys and assessments to ensure corporate outcome indicators and donor specific reports.
Standard Minimum Qualifications
Education:
• Currently in the final year of a bachelor’s degree; or currently enrolled in a master’s degree OR graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent.
• Fields of study: monitoring, social sciences, development studies, international affairs, business administration, or a field relevant to international development assistance.
Experience:
Not a mandatory requirement, but internship or student work in similar capacities would be an added value.
Knowledge &Skills:
• Good understanding of quantitative and qualitative survey methods, data collection, treatment, and analysis is required.
• Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and other Statistical Programs (such as SPSS and STATA)
• Familiarity with monitoring frameworks such as the results-based Log frames is desirable.
• Proficiency in online data collection tools and data visualization (like Tableau) is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an asset.
