Three years have passed since the start of the implementation of UN reforms on January 1st, 2019. The UN Development System (UNDS) reform was based on the GA Resolution 72/279 approved on 31 May 2018 and the UN Secretary-General Implementation Plan. The objective is to ensure that the UN is better fit-for-purpose to support countries achieve the ambitious agenda 2030. The reform should yield a UN development system that is more integrated, more focused on delivery results on the ground, with clearer internal and external accountability for contributions to national needs, and with capacities, skillsets and resources better aligned to the 2030 Agenda.
