ABOUT THIS JOB
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (Gender and Protection ), the incumbent will support the WFP Rwanda Country Office (CO) to strengthen gender, protection and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) mainstreaming based on all relevant WFP policies and guidelines into all programmes. The incumbent is expected to develop and lead initiative with minimum supervision, while coordinating internally and externally with relevant colleagues and partners. The incumbent will be requested to travel to support WFP’s field activities as needed. .

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
• Provide technical assistance and guidance on gender and protection to all WFP staff, including recommending and supporting practical solutions and adjustments, to mainstream gender and protection into all works;
• Coordinate the implementation of the Gender Action Plan, linked to the corporate Gender Policy (2015-2020) to improve Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE);
• Develop communication products and provide quality inputs in development of plans, proposals and reports;
• Contribute to the efficient strengthening and scaling up of Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), a formal mechanism for receiving information from people in communities, being responsible for the data collection, analysis, developing reports and database management;
• Plan and conduct awareness raising events, workshops and trainings to WFP staff, partners and beneficiaries;
• Ensure that gender and protection priorities are incorporated into programming tools in coordination with technical foal points;
• Coordinate the works and strengthen the capacities of Country Gender Results Network (GRN), a gender focal point community in the CO.
• Be responsible for the data collection, analysis, developing reports and database management for Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), a formal mechanism for receiving information from people in communities;

Standard Minimum Qualifications
• Advanced university degree in social sciences, gender, international development, human rights or related field.
• Minimum three or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the areas of gender and protection with in-depth knowledge of these areas in humanitarian and development settings, and its linkage with food security and nutrition;
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills;
• Well organized with a demonstrated ability to analyze statistical information with excellent database management and reporting skills.
• Excellent writing and communication English skills.
• Fluency in Kinyarwanda is essential.
