JOB DETAILS:

African Students Education Fund (ASEF) is an INGO supporting secondary school students in Rwanda since 2007. Our mission is to make a better life possible through education for children in Rwanda who do not have the means to attend school without financial assistance. More than 900 students across Rwanda receive our support, and now we’re hiring a new Program Associate to assist in our program operations.
African Students’ Education Fund (ASEF) is dedicated to improving access to education for secondary school students. We are searching for a dynamic, ambitious and trustworthy accountant to join our team based in Kigali City. .

Roles and Responsibilities
• Post and categorize petty cash transactions in QuickBooks weekly
• Maintain a filing system of all financial records in hard and soft copy
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
• Enter and process beneficiary school fee payments
• Oversee office supply and utility expenses
• Prepare and process monthly payroll and employee payslips
• Prepare and declare all taxation requirements as established by RRA and RSSB
• Compilation of annual financial statements as required by RRA and donor agreements


Job Skills:
• Experience in using QuickBooks software
• Intermediate competency in Microsoft Excel and Word applications
• Spoken and written proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda
• Receptive to feedback and implementation of new ideas
• Superior planning and organizational skills required
• Strong analytical skills, independent judgment, ability to multi-task, comfort under pressure and ability to meet deadlines while retaining a sense of humor
• Other tasks as assigned by organizational directors


Skills and Experience
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
