RWAMREC works on evidence-based programming and is involved in different research projects with the aim of informing its work and to evaluate impact.
Since 2019, RWAMREC has contributed to a multi-country comparative research project to “assess the impact of programs promoting positive masculinity for SRHR and gender equality in informal settlements in Africa”. The study is funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Canada and involves a consortium led by the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW), including different institutions and universities in the US, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) and Rwanda.
The study covers Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) and Rwanda as case studies.

Scope of Work:
Qualitative and quantitative data have already been collected. In particular, a quantitative survey was conducted in December 2020, in 2 urban locations within Rwanda (Nyarugenge and Musanze), involving a sample of more than 450 boys and men aged 18 to 50.
RWAMREC is now looking for an experienced quantitative data analyst to lead the Rwandan team on the analysis of the Rwandan survey data, in order to understand the impact of men’s exposure to positive masculinity programs on their SRHR and gender related attitudes and behaviours.
The consultant will be working hand in hand with the RWAMREC Head of Program as well as with the International cross-country team of researchers including different institutions and universities.
The consultant will be requested to travel out of the country to conduct some sessions during workshops involving the whole international research team and also to contribute to shape the overall analysis plan across countries.
The consultant is also expected to build the capacity of the RWAMREC team during the assignment, in terms of their basic understanding of how quantitative data analysis can be conducted.

Key deliverables:
• An inception report detailing the proposed analysis plan and data analysis techniques to be used to answer the research questions
• A draft report with the results of the analysis
• A final full report incorporating the comments provided by the team
• A shorter easy-to-read report for dissemination
• A training for the RWAMREC team on the basics of quantitative data analysis

Qualification and skills
• A holder of a post-graduate degree in a relevant field (data science, economics, statistics, engineering…);
• An experienced quantitative statistician able to conduct different types of statistical analysis, including regression analysis
• An experienced quantitative researcher who masters the use of data analysis software (Stata)
• Someone with previous experience working with development organizations and programming
• Having some understanding of gender related concepts is a plus

Duration of the consultancy
The assignment shall be completed in a period of three (3) months from the date of the contract signing. The work is expected to start in April 2022.
Reporting:
The consultant(s) will be reporting to RWAMREC Head of Program during the team of the assignment.
