CARE International in Rwanda is in the process of applying for the Girls In Rwanda Learn (GIRL) program (2024-2030). The new FCDO bilateral education funding focuses on enabling children and adolescent, including the most disadvantaged to have the knowledge and skills to achieve their potential and contribute to Rwanda’s economic development. Pursuing this opportunity will last 6-8 weeks and it is anticipated to commence once the invitation to tender is released in January 2024.
Objective of the assignment
CARE International in Rwanda is seeking services of an experienced/competent technician to coordinate CARE Rwanda’s design process in collaboration with the lead international consultant. The national technical consultant will collaborate with the Country Office team, consortium members and different CARE teams in the proposal (both technical and budget) development processes ensuring a high-quality proposal for Component 3: Innovation Fund management for out of schoolgirls and technical inputs into Component 1: Teachers’ capacity development and Component 5: Technical assistance and advocacy.

Conduct mapping of potential partner organizations (NGOs both local and international, local CSOs, Women Rights Organization/Women Led Organization, that could apply and benefit from a grant to implement component 3 on the field |

Conduct needs assessment and field consultations with the communities and local leaders in the sampled districts through interviews and FGDs to gather required information to drive the design, test, learn and adapt elements of component 3 |
22nd January 2024 |
Provide technical support and inputs to enrich the development of components 1 and Component 5 |
9th February 2024 |
Provide reviews addressing comments from the donor feedback |
8th March 2024 |

Role of CARE Rwanda
Assignment Duration
The assignment will last for a period of 11 days commensurate upon contract signature and distributed in accordance with spefic deliverables spread from January to March 2024..
Supervision and working conditions.
The local consultant will be reporting to the CARE Rwanda Business Development Coordinator and work partly remotely and/or attend in person as the need arises. S/he is expected to work closely with the CARE team in Rwanda, UK and USA, consortium partners and an international consultant based in the UK.
