1. Profile of DUHAMIC-ADRI

DUHAMIC -ADRI is a Kinyarwanda acronym that stands for Duharanira Amajyambere y’Icyaro.Translating to ‘’ we strive for the development of the rural community ‘’in English. It is a non-profit organization located in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, within the kicukiro district, Niboye sector.it was established in 1979 by a group of Rwandans who identified the crucial need for rural development in the country.

DUHAMIC-ADRI is a Non-Governmental Organization legally granted by Rwandan law and legally recognized by the Ministerial Order No. 943 of July 12, 1985. Its statutes were amended and accepted by the Ministerial OrderNo.025/11of21th March 2005. With the vision to have « A rural world responsible for its self-socio-economic development », DUHAMIC-ADRI has a mission of « Supporting integrated development through the initiatives of the rural population in their struggle for self-development». DUHAMIC-ADRI’s interventions reaches 27 districts of Rwanda as follow: Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Burera, Gakenke, Gicumbi, Musanze, Rulindo in Northern Province; Gisagara; Huye; Kamonyi; Muhanga; Nyamagabe; Nyanza; Nyaruguru and Ruhango in South Province; Nyabihu; Nyamasheke; Rubavu; Rusizi and Rutsiro of Western Province and then Gatsibo; Kayonza; Kirehe; Ngoma; Nyagatare and Rwamagana of Eeastern Province.

2. Project overview

DUHAMIC-ADRI in partnership with Care International Rwanda and its implementing partners are implementing the five years’ program Supporting and Enhancing Resilient and Viable Employment Opportunities (SERVE) Project. This program is funded by MasterCard Foundation through the partnership of Care International and will focus on to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable, and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for predominantly female youth in agricultural value chains in 10 districts across Rwanda namely RULINDO, GAKENKE, NYABIHU, RUBAVU, RWAMAGANA, KAYONZA, KIREHE, NGOMA, NYAMAGABE and HUYE.

The SERVE Project aim to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young people aged between 18 and 35 years and 70% of them must be women in agricultural value chains across Rwanda.

As planned, SERVE Project has committed to provide start-up input package for the demo plot to Enable farmers to access good agronomy practices through the farmer field and business schools (FFBS) platforms. Therefore, for upcoming 2024 B Season, DUHAMIC-ADRI has to support demo plot with improved seeds of Habanero variety of chili to be cultivated on the area estimated at 5 ha.  It is under this regard, the tender to procure those seeds in line with DUHAMIC-ADRI procurement policy.

3. Objectives of purchasing chili seed

To increase access and capacity to respond to demand/supply local, regional and international markets by increasing efficiency and productivity gains in horticulture supply chain, there is a need to purchase and distribute improved chili planting material of the varieties which are needed at the international markets targeting to increase the quantity and quality of horticulture production that is sold to international markets. The purchased chili seeds will help the following:

• Supporting farmers to access to 1^st generation seedlings
• Establishing and multiplying chili nurseries
• Establishing chili demonstration plots

Eligible bidders should fulfill the following requirements:

• Application letter addressed to DUHAMIC-ADRI executive secretary
• Quotation (Proposed prices)
• Certificate of origin
• Phytosanitary certificate
• Proof of using EBM
• Copy of trading certificate
• Tax clearance certificate

Bids will be submitted in a sealed envelope and addressed to the Executive Secretary of DUHAMIC-ADRI at Kicukiro head office no later than Friday, march 8, 2024 at 11:00AM

The public opening of bids is scheduled on the same day at 11:15 AM at the headquarters of DUHAMIC-ADRI.
