Technology Innovation Manager
Kingfisher Journeys is looking for a clever Technology Innovation Manager to support the company director with the creation, implementation, and management of a range of IT solutions that will help the company to succeed.
The successful person will have a degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a similar subject, the competence to recommend and implement solutions and the dedication to work hard to achieve desired outcomes. .
Your initial responsibilities will be to:
• Use Excel to calculate accurate quotations for the company’s tours and activities.
• Set up online accounts in Google Suite or Microsoft Office, organize existing workflows into this new platform and expand the services to new applications.
• Convert an existing spreadsheet used for quotations into an online system using Microsoft Office, Google Suite or a standalone online portal.
• Prepare customized Word documents incorporating multiple options and links to dynamic data sources.
• Set up and maintain the company's presence on multiple websites that sell the company’s tours.
• Manage the online availability of all tours by regularly verifying availability with suppliers calculating the resultant number of places available on the company’s tours and updating the availability on all systems and portals as necessary.
• Do all other reasonable tasks that the management asks for your assistance with.
In due course, your role will expand to:
• Manage, organize and program booking systems, tour management software, accounting software, mobile apps, and other applications.
• Maintain, update and enhance the company’s website, mobile apps, email accounts, social media accounts, and other online systems.
• Design, build and program new online tools to support the company’s operations.
• Integrate the company booking systems and other third-party systems with the company website to provide a seamless customer booking experience.
• Support company employee’s use of laptops, phones, and all other technical equipment.
You should apply for this role if you have a detailed understanding and ideally experience of:
• Software and website systems design and development using modern programming languages including Wordpress.
• Building cloud computing applications.
• Integrating software solutions that use website APIs and Webhooks.
• Systems management and security.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 and related online applications (including Drive, Excel, Word, Access, Notes, and Outlook); and Google Suite (including Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc).
Desirable additional skills include an understanding of:
• Project management, business planning and execution of IT projects.
• Business analysis and requirements specification.
• Business use of social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
• Tourism and tourist activities in Rwanda and adventure activities in other countries.
