JOB OPPORTUNITY
Over the past 24years, the Government of Rwanda (GoR) has developed and implemented several initiatives commonly known as Home Grown Solutions (HGS), which have been key in addressing some of Rwanda’s major post genocide challenges. These initiatives are informed by Rwanda’s local, historical and cultural values and have been central in addressing social, political and economic challenges.
In that regard, Rwanda built and acquired knowledge, expertise and good practices in these areas. As a result, for the past several years, there is an increasing interest and demand from different countries & international organizations to learn from Rwanda’s experience and many African countries are also keen to share their own experience with Rwanda, in return learn from her social-economic development model
Rwanda Cooperation Initiative was created as a “Single Window Access” for HGS services to insure effective management, prompt response of foreign requests, and institute a cost recovery mechanism.
RCI will provide the following service categories:
• Training & Study Visits
• Advisory services
• Special project implementation.
In order to deliver on its program strategy and accountabilities, RCI is looking for skilled and competent candidates to fill the positions stated in the table below.

Profile Job
Relevant Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration and Business Administration or any other relevant qualifications & experience ü Experience and Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required
• Minimum eight years of demonstrated experience in developing fundraising strategy and institutional fundraising;
• Prior experience/ understanding of the development sector, is essential;
• Applicants with prior experience of working with Civil Society, private sector, NGOs and philanthropic organizations shall be at advantage;
• In-depth exposure to the use of various media platforms such as print, electronic/ online, and social media, for communication and brand building is desirable;
• Experience in grants management, monitoring, assessments and reviews, is desirable;
• Excellent leadership, management and team building skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple priorities.
• Proven skills in information, communication, networking, advocacy and ability to relate with mass media.
• Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with private sector, corporate institutions and partners.
• Current knowledge of development issues, strategies as well as programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas as well as to impart knowledge and teaching skills.
• Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
• Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English and French
Job Description
• Developing, implementing and monitoring fundraising strategies,
• Approaching and raising funds from companies, trusts, partners/donors, Banks and foundations within Rwanda and abroad;
• Conducting research on potential donors/partners such as trusts, foundations, companies and high net worth individuals, etc
• Developing, managing and updating RCI partners’ databases to record their contacts
• Facilitating co-financing opportunities for partner organizations;
• Developing annual work plans based on the approved strategy and if needed, preparing income and expenditure budgets for each fundraising initiatives;
• Raising awareness of RCI and its work at the County and National levels;
• Developing and coordinating web-based fundraising, if needed;
• Preparing project proposals for corporate and other funding agencies;
• Organizing events for partnership building between implementers and potential partners;
• Ensuring all partners receive appropriate and timely reports and updates;
• Ensuring timely, appropriate and quality communication to all partners of RCI;
• Monitoring and evaluating partners’ communications on a regular basis;
• Briefing the Top Management of RCI on partner specific communication;
• Developing strategies for communicating with different kinds of partners;
