Job purpose
To provide the company with advisory services regarding risk, compliance, dispute resolution strategies, legal drafting, legality, structuring, fiscal efficiency, and compliance of contractual arrangements.

Core responsibilities
• Extract value by focusing on optimizing process within the department in line with the value creation philosophy. This includes individual contributions and recommendations to improve existing business project / initiative.
• Drive innovation by identifying and taking advantage of new business opportunities, for instance, stimulating and encouraging new business opportunities, process innovation, business model innovation, etc.
• Enhance/expand the Company’s role in the larger national macro environment by participating in projects and involvement in recognized professional institutions, participating in think-tank activities, etc.
• Sustain the right organizational culture and behavior by demonstrating the vital behaviors always.
• Advise the Company on legal matters including but not limited to contractual, issues that may affect the Company’s operations
• Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Give relevant and creative legal advice on contractual disputes and claims affecting the interest of the Company.
• Discuss with various units within the Company to creatively achieve a proactive and sustainable legal protection for the business.

• Liaise with relevant units in resolving emerging disputes between the Company and its customers / vendors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and update database, reports, and documentation.
• Database tracking and monitoring.
• Draft minutes of meetings and resolutions. Filing of reports with relevant authorities.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the line manager
Minimum experience & qualifications/essential knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (i.e., LLB and BL).
• Minimum 4 years post-call.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
• Experience working in at least a medium-sized organization
• Civil litigation experience
• Corporate and commercial law experience
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of telecommunication related laws and issues within the telecommunication industry will be an added advantage
