JOB DETAILS:
Overview
Key roles:

The Senior Associate will work together with a multi-disciplinary team applying industry knowledge and experience to Client needs. This will include but not limited to delivery of tax compliance and advisory services to a variety of clients by leading the engagement team, managing resources and ensuring that deliverables meet the required standard, as well as assisting in the implementation of the Tax & Regulatory Services Strategy.


Responsibilities:
• Leading Tax advisory, tax compliance, and other related assignments and being responsible for quality output.
• Review of internal risk processes before onboarding clients
• Developing key client relationships and maintaining the same.
• Billing clients and ensuring payment is done in a timely manner.
• Providing planning and technical assistance to the engagement team on assignments.
• Drafting opinion letters, responses to RRA inquiries, RRA ruling requests and writing other technical memoranda.
• Drafting and reviewing thought leadership materials including articles and alerts.
• Maintaining key relationships with regulators and other stakeholders.
• Maintaining proper client files for internal and external reviews.
• Meeting deadlines set by the Manager and clients on each engagement.
• Preparing Tax training presentations aimed at external and internal audiences
• Liaising with internal KPMG Business units and related tax offices in the region and
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Academic/Professional qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• A minimum of three years corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm
• Knowledge of tax laws applicable in Rwanda
• Working knowledge of accounting information systems, Tax tools and IFRS.
• Qualifications in ACCA or CPA are desirable
