We are recruiting a Senior Consultant – Education Economist to join our Consultancy Team within the Strategic Growth Function. Due to the flexible nature of this role, we are inviting applicants who would be willing to commit for a 3, 6 or 12 month fixed-term contract. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and strategic education economist expertise to two flagship programmes in Sub Saharan Africa. In addition, as part of a team of consultants, the post holder will play a key role in delivering high quality consultancy services, including research, advisory services, training and facilitation to a portfolio of clients internationally, including donors, governments and charities; as well as making a significant contribution to the business growth of the team through identifying and sourcing new business opportunities. They will also support corporate wide business development activities when required, as well as Research and Development projects to develop our education solutions and new business offerings, to drive long term business growth and improved educational impact. Senior Consultants are the engine of the Strategic Growth Function. They pursue, design, manage and deliver strategic opportunities in our core areas of expertise that help us achieve our charitable mission to transform lives by improving education around the world. They are pro-active in identifying and pursuing new business, they are highly skilled in problem solving and solution design and are adaptable to different contexts, clients and changing circumstances. They are outstanding communicators with excellent writing skills, able to engage and build rapport with clients, partners and other stakeholders in person and remotely. They live and breathe our core methods and contribute to continuously developing and improving them as we learn from our programmes and the wider evidence base. .

The successful post-holder will have:
• strong technical knowledge of education data systems in a range of markets.
– a degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics or Economics, or another related field.
– extensive experience of planning, monitoring, evaluation and data analysis
– knowledge of education financing including programme costing, value for money (VfM) and cost-benefit analysis.
– demonstrable experience of economic quantitative and qualitative research analysis in the education sector.
– professional experience in consultancy, professional services, programme management, relevant business development or education management environment
