As a Senior Associate, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve complex business issues. This role requires you to develop specialized tax expertise in the areas of Transfer pricing and International taxation and act as a key resource on complex tax technical matters.
Roles and responsibilities
• Contribute to the development of new methodologies or approaches to address emerging tax issues for our clients.
• Assist clients by identifying issues they may not recognize and recommend solutions tailored to their strategic and commercial objectives whilst considering the regulatory environment.
• Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients.
• Manage existing client portfolios and maintain sound client relationships.
• Leverages on internal and external networks to enhance firm’s connectivity, performance and profitability opportunities.
• Ensure that financial targets of self and team are achieved.
• Provide written technical opinions or reports for clients.
• Train, coach, and supervise team members.
• Conduct tax training for clients as and when required.
• Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation in the East Africa region.
• Keep up to date with local and international business and economic issues
Preferred skills
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
• Having completed ACCA/CPA or an equivalent accounting qualification
• Applicants with tax qualification will have an added advantage
• 6-7 years of relevant experience in the field of tax preferably from a tax advisory firm. Transfer pricing experience will be an added advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of the tax legislative framework in Rwanda
• In-depth knowledge of the local tax regulations, policies and practices in Rwanda.
• Excellent analytical skills and commercial expertise are required for you to succeed in this role
• You must also demonstrate the ability to communicate with impact, have excellent business development and negotiation skills
• You must have good leadership skills, be an effective team player, excellent management skills and good project management skills
