DUHAMIC -ADRI is a Kinyarwanda acronym that stands for Duharanira Amajyambere y’Icyaro.

Translating to ‘’ we strive for the development of the rural community ‘’in English. It is a non-profit organization located in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, within the kicukiro district, Niboye sector.it was established in 1979 by a group of Rwandans who identified the crucial need for rural development in the country.

DUHAMIC-ADRI is a Non-Governmental Organization legally granted by Rwandan law and legally recognized by the Ministerial Order No. 943 of July 12, 1985. Its statutes were amended and accepted by the Ministerial OrderNo.025/11of21th March 2005. With the vision to have « A rural world responsible for its self-socio-economic development », DUHAMIC-ADRI has a mission of « Supporting integrated development through the initiatives of the rural population in their struggle for self-development». DUHAMIC-ADRI’s interventions reaches 27 districts of Rwanda as follow: Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Burera, Gakenke, Gicumbi, Musanze, Rulindo in Northern Province; Gisagara; Huye; Kamonyi; Muhanga; Nyamagabe; Nyanza; Nyaruguru and Ruhango in South Province; Nyabihu; Nyamasheke; Rubavu; Rusizi and Rutsiro of Western Province and then Gatsibo; Kayonza; Kirehe; Ngoma; Nyagatare and Rwamagana of Eeastern Province.

Project Background
DUHAMIC-ADRI in partnership with Care International Rwanda and its implementing partners are implementing the five years’ program Supporting and Enhancing Resilient and Viable Employment Opportunities (SERVE) Project. This program is funded by MasterCard Foundation through the partnership of Care International and focus on to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable, and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for predominantly female youth (18-35 years) in agricultural value chains in 10 districts across Rwanda : Rulindo and Gakenke in in Northern Province; Kayonza, Rwamagana, Ngoma, and Kirehe in Eastern Province; Nyamagabe, and Huye in Southern Province; and Nyabihu and Rubavu in Western Province.

Objectives of supporting and link farmers to access quality harvest and post-harvest equipment.
The following are the specific objectives for this activity:
Access to post-harvest equipment: Facilitate farmers' access to quality harvest and post-harvest equipment, emphasizing crates, sheeting, and egg trays.
Creating Linkages and Networking: Establish connections between farmers and relevant stakeholders, including suppliers, markets, and support organizations. Networking opportunities can lead to valuable partnerships and collaborations that further support farmersTop of Form
Best Practices Demonstration: Showcase and promote best practices in post-harvest handling for chili, French beans, tomatoes, and poultry products.
Youth Empowerment: Support and empower youth farmers to adopt and comply with quality assurance requirements for agricultural products.
Market Compliance: Enhance farmers' ability to meet local, regional, and international market standards, thereby expanding market access.
Reducing Post-Harvest Losses: Minimize losses occurring after harvesting through the proper use of equipment such as crates, sheeting, and egg trays. Reducing post-harvest losses contributes to increased economic returns for farmers.
Empowering Farmers, Particularly Youth: Empower farmers, including youth, by providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary to handle post-harvest activities effectively. This empowerment can lead to increased confidence, independence, and sustainability in agricultural practices.

Procurement process
The following terms and conditions shall be observed during tendering process:
This tender is public for companies, cooperatives and others specialized institutions operating in Rwanda;
Quotation shall include all taxes and transportation costs to above mentioned sites
Proven financial capacity demonstrated by a valid credit line and /or bank saving history equivalent to the proposed tender value
A Commitment letter to supply and distribute the needed materials in a period not exceeding 20 calendar days upon reception of purchase order/signing contract
A certificate issued by DUHAMIC-ADRI following the inspection of the required material sample. (sample visit certificate)
A valid tax clearance certificate
Proof of using EBM
Having conducted the similar activity, demonstrated by at least 3 certificates of good completion
Notice: It is mandatory for all interested bidders to visit the sample of materials at DUHAMIC ADRI head offices from 16th to 19th, April from 8AM to 5PM (Tuesday to Friday) Failure to comply with this requirement will result in automatic rejection.

Bidders are allowed to apply for all lots.

Bids must be submitted not later than Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:30AM at DUHAMIC- ADRI head office located in Kigali/ Kicukiro Niboye. The public opening is scheduled on the same day at 11:45AM For further details or clarifications, please reach out via email at procurement@duhamic.org.rw.
