JOB DETAILS:
About the Role:
• Save the Children (SC) is the world’s largest independent child rights organization, underpinned by a vision of a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. Our mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
• The psychiatric nurse shall be responsible for provision of mental health care, counselling and active case management. He/she will provide facility and community-based mental health interventions in SCI’s areas of interventions. Assess patients' mental status, develop treatment plans and provide up to date patient care including making referrals to the appropriate services points. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications and experience .
• Must have a diploma in Psychiatric nursing from a recognized institution
• Must be registered with the relevant professional council.
• At least three years working experience in Primary Health Care settings:
• Experience in planning, organizing and coordinating Psychiatric health activities;
• Experience in Information management
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to enhance good interpersonal relationship;
• Good report writing skills;
• Good knowledge and application of Microsoft word, Excel and Power Poin
• Experience in planning, organizing and coordinating Psychiatric health activities;
• Language skills in Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, English, and French
• Excellent knowledge of patients rights and health professional rights.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
This position is on Child Safeguarding- Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs. Or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
