Our Certificates in Global Engagement - with their core study abroad and internship abroad programs - seek to complement existing higher education and professional development with a crucial interdisciplinary approach to global engagement. We help learners to develop and apply key competencies for global change leaders.
For our office in Kigali, we are looking for a Program Management Intern to join our Program Management Team for a minimum of 6 months. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in international education, sustainable development, and/or public health.
Only serious candidates who are committed to transitioning into a full-time Program Officer position at the end of the internship will be considered.
About the position
Under the direction of our Program Managers, the Program Management Intern is responsible to help to develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate education and engagement programs.
Primary tasks and duties will include:
Assistance with the development of program itineraries and related documentation
Assistance with relevant program preparations, operations and evaluations, including tour guiding
Assistance with the engagement of a variety of local institutional partners
Assistance with research for program content creation
Assistance with other administrative, business development and management tasks at the office
Education & experience:
Bachelor's degree (minimum) in sustainable development, public health, global challenges, or a closely related field.
Skills:
Knowledge of and interest in topics relating to sustainable development and public health is very important
Extensive knowledge of Rwanda, both with regards to geography and current affairs
Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities
Excellent English and Kinyarwanda language skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Regional or international travel experience is a plus
Character & personality:
Strong interest in international education, sustainable development and/or public health
Proactive self-starter with a creative mindset
Outgoing and an effective communicator
Committed to high standards of professionalism and performance
Dependable, trustworthy, and accountable
Adaptable and willing to work long hours when with clients
Team player
