1. Profile of DUHAMIC-ADRI

DUHAMIC -ADRI is a Kinyarwanda acronym that stands for Duharanira Amajyambere y’Icyaro.Translating to ‘’ we strive for the development of the rural community ‘’in English. It is a non-profit organization located in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, within the kicukiro district, Niboye sector.it was established in 1979 by a group of Rwandans who identified the crucial need for rural development in the country.

DUHAMIC-ADRI is a Non-Governmental Organization legally granted by Rwandan law and legally recognized by the Ministerial Order No. 943 of July 12, 1985. Its statutes were amended and accepted by the Ministerial OrderNo.025/11of21th March 2005. With the vision to have « A rural world responsible for its self-socio-economic development », DUHAMIC-ADRI has a mission of « Supporting integrated development through the initiatives of the rural population in their struggle for self-development». DUHAMIC-ADRI’s interventions reaches 27 districts of Rwanda as follow: Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Burera, Gakenke, Gicumbi, Musanze, Rulindo in Northern Province; Gisagara; Huye; Kamonyi; Muhanga; Nyamagabe; Nyanza; Nyaruguru and Ruhango in South Province; Nyabihu; Nyamasheke; Rubavu; Rusizi and Rutsiro of Western Province and then Gatsibo; Kayonza; Kirehe; Ngoma; Nyagatare and Rwamagana of Eeastern Province.

2. Project Overview

DUHAMIC-ADRI in partnership with Care International Rwanda and its implementing partners are implementing the five years’ program Supporting and Enhancing Resilient and Viable Employment Opportunities (SERVE) Project. This program is funded by MasterCard Foundation through the partnership of Care International and will focus on to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable, and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for predominantly female youth in agricultural value chains in 10 districts across Rwanda namely RULINDO, GAKENKE, NYABIHU, RUBAVU, RWAMAGANA, KAYONZA, KIREHE, NGOMA, NYAMAGABE and HUYE.

The SERVE Project aim to build a resilient, sustainable, gender equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial environment that increases dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young people aged between 18 and 35 years and 70% of them must be women in agricultural value chains across Rwanda.

DUHAMIC-ADRI's intervention under the SERVE Project is to ensure the market linkage and increase productivity that also goes with increase the quantity and the quality of production through delivery of training on Good Agronomical Practices (GAP). 

3. Introduction

DUHAMIC-ADRI under SERVE aims to provide start up for demo plots that enable farmers to access good agronomy practices through the Farmer field and business schools (FFBS) platforms. Therefore, for upcoming 2024 B Season, DUHAMIC-ADRI aims to support demo plot with Watering cans and Pesticides sprayers to 200 Agriculture Farmer Groups (FGs) across 10 districts.

4. Objectives

• To create demonstration plots that serve as learning centres for the community.
• Contribute to the overall improvement of agricultural practices among farmer groups
• The facilitations on proper use of water and pesticides

5. Quantity of needs

6. Distribution sites 

The needed equipment will be distributed in 10 districts at DUHAMIC-ADRI sub-offices as specified below:

1. Rwamagana district, Muhazi sector
2. Kayonza district, Mukarange sector
3. Ngoma district, Kibungo
4. Kirehe district, Kigina sector
5. Rulindo district, Base
6. Gakenke district, Gakenke
7. Rubavu district, Gisenyi sector
8. Nyabihu district, Mukamira sector
9. Huye district, Gakenke sector
10. Nyamagabe district, Gasaka sector

7. Eligibility criteria

Interested candidates will present their bids comprising of the following documents:

• Application letter addressed to DUHAMIC-ADRI executive secretary
• Quotation (Proposed prices)
• Proof of using EBM
• At least two certificates of good completion for similar services
• Copy of trading certificate
• A valid Tax clearance certificate
• A commitment letter to deliver in a period no later than 5 days from the date of receiving the purchase order

Notice: Price proposed shall include transport costs and all applicable taxes

Bids will be submitted in a sealed envelope and addressed to the Executive Secretary of DUHAMIC-ADRI at Kicukiro head office no later than Friday, march 22, 2024 at 10:00AM

The public opening of bids is scheduled on the same day at 10:30 AM at the headquarters of DUHAMIC-ADRI.
