GHC leaders are concentrated in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and the U.S., but the network has a truly global reach across 40+ countries and 450+ health organizations.

What You’ll Do
The People team strives to make GHC the best home for leaders seeking careers in health equity. The People Operations Coordinator will provide equitable, inclusive, and customer-centric HR services to our team. In doing so, you will help empower, support, and retain leaders who maximize GHC’s impact. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you will provide administrative and operational support across all People team functions, including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, staff engagement, learning and development, and People analytics. You will lead HR system improvement projects and support the Director of People and culture in executing special projects.

Specifically, the People Coordinator will…
• Lead payroll and benefits administration.
• Own administrative tasks related to recruitment, performance management, leave management, staff survey administration, knowledge management, and statutory compliance.
• Lead onboarding and offboarding, ensuring teammates have the tools and support they need for strong starts and smooth departures.
• Serve as the first point of contact for People admin services and support.
• Be the owner and technical expert of our HR information system (BambooHR) and our applicant tracking system (Lever), lead People data cleaning and data management initiatives, and support People analytics projects.
• Lead People operations system improvement projects, making day-to-day People work more efficient, seamless, and user-friendly.
• Support learning and development initiatives, connecting staff with external training and helping organize internal training and development opportunities.
• Assist projects with third-party People service providers, including supporting health insurance renewals, sourcing improved payroll providers, benefits services, and HR systems and online platforms.
• Work with the Finance team to support People team invoicing and help monitor the People Team budget.
• Support the Director of People and Culture conduct routine compensation benchmarking exercises and benefits reviews.
• Support the Director of People and Culture execute strategic People team projects.

• Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Work Environment And Benefits
This role can be based in Lilongwe, Malawi; Kigali, Rwanda; Kampala, Uganda; or Lusaka, Zambia.
