Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Marketing and Sales Manager to lead the company’s market expansion and drive sales growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence, grow revenue, and expand customer reach in Rwanda and Eastern DRC.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
• Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies tailored to the Rwandan and Eastern DRC markets.
• Identify growth opportunities and create detailed market entry plans for new products or regions.
• Establish and monitor sales targets, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Sales Management
• Oversee the sales team to ensure efficient performance and achievement of revenue targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with clients and suppliers to maximize profitability.
Market Development
• Conduct market research to understand customer needs, trends, and competitor activities.
• Develop promotional campaigns, including advertising, trade shows, and events, to enhance brand visibility.
• Ensure consistent product availability and optimal distribution to maximize market penetration.
Team Leadership and Development
• Recruit, train, and mentor the sales and marketing team to achieve high levels of performance.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging innovation and accountability.
• Reporting and Analysis
• Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and ROI on marketing initiatives.
• Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing in FMCG distribution.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.
• Experience in managing cross-border markets, especially in Eastern Africa, is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in marketing tools and sales analytics.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Swahili is an advantage.
