Description
The Flying Doctor in Queensland has an exciting, newly created role managing the Central West & Outback Mental Health Services. The Manager - Central West & Outback Mental Health is responsible for service delivery, health outcomes, education, representation, advocacy, operational efficiency and financial performance of RFDS mental health services across the Western corridor of Queensland.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Longreach with relocation and remote allowances provided. This role can be a FIFO role with accommodation, vehicle use, and additional allowances available.

Key Responsibilities Include
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance to Mental Health Clinicians
• Work closely with the State Manager – Mental Health to deliver operational plans
• Engage with clinical governance processes and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Manage the performance of the team
• Prepare and submit operational reports in line with funding contracts
• Explore ways to expand mental health services across the West
• Perform clinical services for a small case load of clients
• Collaborate in the delivery of business cases and funding submissions for PHC programs to enhance delivery of services
• Contribute to the annual budget and manage cost efficient and innovative ways of managing resources

Who we are looking for? We are looking for a Senior Clinician and forward-thinking Leader that possess the following:
• Registration with AHPRA or membership of the AASW
• Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing
• Post-graduate experience of at least 5 years in a relevant clinical field
• Minimum of three years of relevant management or supervision experience
• Well-developed leadership and management skills in a clinical setting
• The ability to meet credentialing requirements within area of clinical practise and maintain own clinical practise
• Demonstrated high level communication skills and experience in facilitating collaboration across agencies both government and non-government
• Experience in contract management and resourcing funded projects
• Ability to communicate and work effectively within remote communities
• Understanding of issues impacting on Indigenous health and wellbeing
• Ability to manage a dispersed workforce

About Us
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) has been providing Mental Health services across difficult to access parts of Queensland since 2000. Our service provides culturally appropriate, evidence based, psychological therapies to individuals who present with mild to moderate mental health needs.

Outback Mental Health Services are comprised of a Drought Wellbeing Service, Remote Wellbeing Service, and Wellbeing Out West program. The Central West Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides mental health support to people in Longreach and surrounding communities. Clinicians offer services such as psychological therapies, low intensity counselling services and mental health and wellbeing promotion.
