Bufcoffee Ltd is famous company in producing and exporting coffee that started in 2001. Most of Bufcoffee small farmers started to practice coffee agriculture in 1952, where coffee was ordinary processed and sold locally. This company had continued to grow, where it now has four washing coffee stations (Kamonyi, Kigoma, Remera and Nyarusiza) and two dry mill.

Bufcoffee Ltd is not only involved in producing and exporting coffee but cares about its small coffee farmers socially and economically. Trainings and capacity building are provided on how to increase coffee yield but also Bufcoffee is involved in improving the community welfare in various socioeconomic domains.

In line with the above ambition and in cooperation with Selecta AB, Europe’s leading vending & coffee services company-based in Sweden, Bufcoffee has recently constructed UMUVUMU Kindergarten and seeks to recruit highly a skilled, dedicated, and experienced person to serve as the Kindergarten Administrative Assistant.The Administrative Assistant will work under the supervision of the Kindergarten Principal and in collaboration with other Kindergarten staff.

About Bufcoffee’s UMUVUMU Kindergarten

UMUVUMU Kindergarten is constructed in Nyarusiza, Kamegeri Sector of Nyamagabe District in Southern Province. UMUVUMU Kindergarten project aims at receiving children from Bufcoffee farmers (as well as other children from the community) at the kindergarten to give them a good care and health start that will enable them to perform in their future education. This will allow farmers to positively face the issue of leaving children at home alone and to concentrate on their duties on the field which will positively impact on their coffee production.

Nature and Scope of Job

The Administrative Assistant at UMUVUMU Kindergarten is responsible for providing administrative services (including but not limited to administration, management and accounting, but also dissemination of relevant information and directions) to the Kindergarten staff and stakeholders.

S/he will embrace the Kindergarten vision and mission and work as a member of team together with colleagues towards achieving the Kindergarten vision and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact for the Kindergarten and ensure parents, children, staff and other kindergarten stakeholders are attended to in an orderly fashion;
  • Provide support in office/classroom space management for its proper utilization at the Kindergarten;
  • Maintain both electronic and hard copy filing system including recording outgoing and incoming courier and invoices and ensuring regular checking of the Kindergarten mailbox;
  • Triaging incoming requests, queries, calls, and invitations;
  • Support in the requisitions and payments of office supplies and other materials needed at the Kindergarten;
  • Act as the Kindergarten petty cash manager as well as the second point of contact in all matters regarding the Kindergarten finances after the Principal;
  • Assist in the Kindergarten events management and act as the Kindergarten customer advisor;
  • Represent the Principal in different activities (serve as the acting Principal during Principal’s leave and/or absence)

Requirements (minimum experience and qualification)

  • Bachelor’s degree (A0)in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance and/or other related domains;
  • A minimum experience of three years in providing administration or accounting services;
  • Experience in preparing staff payroll and other HR assignments;
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, quick book and experience in using accounting software);
  • Intermediate experience in processing financial transactions;
  • Experience and ability to work independently and take initiatives;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the experience and ability to interact professionally with diverse partners and people;
  • Experience working with the community in general and children and parents in particular;
  • Evidence of an interest in continuous professional development;
  • Demonstrated maturity and judgment.

Language

Kinyarwanda speaking with excellent command of English, good knowledge of other languages like French is a plus.
