The company offers the following services to the coffee farmers: Purchase and distribute fertilizers, pesticides, prepare and supply coffee seedlings, provide Agricultural extension services, purchase and market coffee cherries from famer members and non-members, and organize farmers in groups. Coffee Farmers grow coffee on sloping hills in Nyamasheke District, it is estimated that the number of the coffee trees in the area are 465,180 trees, out of which Rwamatamu Company has 55,000 and coffee farmers own the remaining 410,180.
Recently, with the support of the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), RWAMATAMU has invested on improving the CWS infrastructure and purchase of a modern coffee pulping machine, coffee tree nursery and distribution of new coffee seedling to members and non-members, trainings and technical assistance among other activities. However, RWAMATAMU has realized the need for a comprehensive Business Plan to become more competitive for the domestic and international coffee market.

Summary Rwamatamu Coffee Ltd is seeking a consultant to develop a 5 years business plan. The Plan should outline how the company plans to implement the proposed innovation over the coming 5 years and which identifies both technical and financial resources required in order to achieve this.
Outcomes and results expected of the service Develop a comprehensive, well-written, professional business plan that:
• tells a coherent, consistent, and cohesive, customer-focused story
• Describe the past performance
• clearly defines the market, its prospects, suppliers, and competitors
• define the accurate distribution channels
• contain credible business planning assumptions and forecasts

Deliverables• The consultant will submit and Inception Report within 5 days after received a signed contract.
• Develop the business plan in cooperation with the Rwamatamu team and its key stakeholders, and will fully prepare the Rwamatamu to present the business plan to funders in less that 40 days after receiving a contract
• Submit the draft Business Plan to Rwamatamu for review and sharing with key stakeholders for input and observations in less that 50 days after receipt of the contract.
• Address all input from Rwamatamu and its key stakeholders.
• The Consultant will submit a business plan that fully meets the requirements of Rwamatamu and funders within 60 days after receipt of the signed service contract. The Consultant will submit 3 hard copies of the Business, together with an electronic copy of a Business Plan will all annexes.
Determination of the winning bid This is a competitive process the winning bid will be determined on the basis of price and quality of proposal.

The consultancy assignment will take 60 days, including submission of a final business plan.
3. Qualifications/demonstration of capabilities
• Lead consultant must have bachelor degree in any of the following areas: Business Administration, Commerce, Rural Development, and Agribusiness. A master degree in the above-mentioned areas and a training certificate in a coffee value chain is an advantage.
• Consultant must have at least five years of experience of Developing Business Plans in the Agriculture sector and coffee value chain in [particular. Similar assignment should include the business plan development in agribusinesses/agriculture where similar assignments were conducted including the value of the contract, the year when the assignment was conducted and the client. By submitting this information, the consultant allows Rwamatamu Coffee Ltd to contact the former clients of the consultant regarding the consultants work with them.
• The consulting firm should submit a valid clearance Certificates from RSSB & RRA and at least 3 references from previous customers for similar services.
• Proof of good written document in English or French
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda.
• Knowledge of Rwanda coffee sector
