Background And Purpose Of The Assigment:SAMS Unit/ Huye is currently engaged in six inter-related initiatives aimed at uplifting the livelihoods of smallholder farmers: The Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA); Home Grown School Feeding (HGSF); Joint programme on Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JP RWEE); the Sustainable Agricultural Productivity and Market Linkage Project (SAPMP); the postharvest loss reduction (PHLR) initiative; and the Master card Foundation from the seven Districts. Six in the South (Ruhango, Nyanza, Huye, Gisagara, Nyaruguru and Nyamagabe and one in the West (Rusizi) WFP Huye field office is looking for a suitable candidate to participate in the female Internship Programme 2023 in Monitoring and evaluation and Knowledge management focusing on Small Holder Farmers Market Support. The position will be based in Huye field office. The Internship Will Be Typically For A Period Of At Least 6 Months From February 2023 To July 2023.

Deliverables At The End Of The Contract:
• Smallholder farmers supported though farmer selection, access to market, improved inputs, post-harvest handling and storage, Nutrition and Good agricultural Practices trainings.
Reporting:
• Completed analysis report for SAMS operational updates
• Completed documentation of the SAMS knowledge products including case studies
Standard Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Fresh graduate, Minimum of a University degree in Agriculture, agribusiness, development studies and other related field. A recent graduate of a master’s degree (within 6 months) in Agriculture, agribusiness, development studies.
Experience:
Not a mandatory requirement, but internship in similar capacities would be a plus
Knowledge &Skills:
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving, ability to plan, organize work and team work
• Strong ability with Office package including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS teams.
• Ability to work in a timely and organised manner.
• Willingness to learn and explore with new ideas and approaches in own work.
• Ability to work in a team and multi-task.
• Knowledge of effective advocacy, knowledge sharing and communication tools and techniques
Languages:
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an asset.
