Background And Purpose Of The Assigment:

Rwanda is a low-income, least-developed country with a population of 12.9 million people, of whom 52 percent are women and girls and 48 percent men and boys. In the past two decades, the Government of Rwanda has consistently and rather successfully pursued development objectives, but many challenges persist including in food and nutrition.
WFP Rwanda helps the Government enhance the national capacity to manage and innovate, but also to tackle more immediate humanitarian needs and provide a path to self-reliance, ensuring no one is left behind while facilitating national ownership. WFP is increasingly transitioning from humanitarian action into development and humanitarian nexus efforts to create links and make greater impact.
The position is in the External Partnerships and Communication Unit. The WFP Rwanda Country Office (CO) aims to continuously enhance its partnership management, communication and advocacy to sustain support to beneficiaries, scale-up existing and implement new programmes in support of the Government’s vision for the country.
