JOB DETAILS:
Key Roles and responsibilities
Strategy
• Take lead in development of health and safety strategies and developing internal policy;
• Make changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation & policies and procedures;
Risk assessment
• Carry out risk assessments and derive solutions on how risks could be reduced;
• Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards;
• Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
Training
• Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks;
• Records Management
• Keep records of inspection findings and producing reports that su est im rovements;
• Record incidents and accidents and produce reports and statistics for management's attention;
• Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry;
• Develop management reports, newsletters and bulletins on health & safety;
• Lead and implement the safe installation of equipment;
• Manage and organize the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos;
• Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, public health, organizational psychology or any other closely related field with minimum of three (3) years of experience.
and/or;
• Master's degree in clinical psychology, public health, organizational psychology or any other closely related field with minimum of two (2) years of experience.
