Graphic Designer
Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy (AGGP) has embarked on a journey to develop responsible entrepreneurs across the African continent in service of the common good. Our vision is an empowered, prosperous, productively engaged African citizenry thriving in ethical societies with dignity and hope.
JASIRI – one of AGGP’s main programs – invests in, nurtures, and empowers entrepreneurs who benefit society and attack poverty through the creation of high impact businesses, creating newmarkets on the African continent. The JASIRI Talent Investor is a fully funded one-year program that will guide participants from idea generation, validation, prototyping, and market entry to venture creation. The program will introduce JASIRI Fellows to equally ambitious co-founders, and will support them on an individual, team and business level. The JASIRI Accelerator invests in and supports companies with market-creating innovations. Wavumbuzi – a JASIRI pipeline building program – is a free annual six-week online entrepreneurship challenge focused on developing the entrepreneurial mindset of secondary/high school learners throughout the country.
We require a Graphic Designer to support our work by creating and developing engaging graphics, visual text and imagery concepts that inspires, informs and captivates various audiences; and conceptualizing all design elements for AGGP’s campaign projects, program explainers, reports, publications, etc.

About the Position
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing, supervising, collating and administering all requests for design work for AGGP. He/She will design and create artwork according to specifications as detailed by various project leads including
photography and multimedia. They will also coordinate the development and creative design for the website including maintenance.

Responsibilities
Development of AGGP Design material
• Ensure proper coordination and development of the conceptual designs for all projects.
• Effective liaison with project leads regarding appropriate artwork and design for projects.
• Recommend and supervise the outsourcing of design work of certain AGGP graphic design related jobs.
• Design and create artwork according to specifications as requested by leads.
• Coordinate the design and layout of all stationery for AGGP.
• Responsible for the designing and laying-out of administrative templates/forms.
• Ensure corporate branding policies are adhered to for all artwork undertaken.
• Ensure proper coordination of the design of all brand marketing items and signage.
• Assist in the conceptualisation, design and layout of various AGGP publications and literature produced for all projects.

Photography and Multimedia Services
• Responsible for the coordination of any project photo opportunities during AGGP events.
• Draft and manage a plan for the photographic and multimedia library
• Manage the storage and safe-keeping of all graphic design and photographic equipment.

Management of AGGP Program Websites
• Ensure effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the AGGP program websites; namely Jasiri and Wavumbuzi
• Coordinating the uploading of content on the website
• Reporting on website performance/traffic and providing any suggestions for improvement.

Job Requirements
Experience
• 3 – 4 years’ experience on graphical packages (Adobe Ai/Id etc) for both the traditional as well as the new media
• Experience in developing engaging content for various campaigns in the East African Region
• Experience in web content structuring and the layout of web pages

Education
• National diploma OR Degree in graphic design/multimedia solutions
• Completion of technical programs such as software training courses
