JOB DETAILS:

Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC) is a non-government organization whose aim is to address issues of negative masculinity, gender inequality by engaging men to play a significant role and as associates in partnership with women to prevent GBV and promote gender equality and equity, promotion of health families and women’s rights promotion. To date, RWAMREC operates and has offices in 21 Districts. The implementation is effected through community mobilization campaigns, capacity building to mainstream and implement MenEngage in existing programs and advocating for policy formulation and change to reflect male engagement approaches.
To fill-up its organization structure, RWAMREC would like to recruit a qualified.
Position: Field Officer


Major duties and responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the RWAMREC Executive Secretary, the Field Officer shall have the following roles and responsibilities:


1. Participating in planning, coordination and implementation of the project field work in the District
2. Participate in conducting situational analysis in collaboration with the existing stakeholders to determinate the training needs in gender field with the Men engage focus
3. Train and supervise trainees during community training activities on the ground
4. Participate in identifying trainees and organize approach for training activities
5. Participate in adaptation and utilization of the training module
6. Take lead in organizing and supervising trainings
7. Provide backstopping to the training activities in respective sectors
8. Monitor the creation of free space for mutual support/influence to challenge the normative male behaviors and gain women’s support in the change journey
9. Participate in monitoring sessions/meetings and provide regular feedback to RWAMREC about activities and participate in coordination meetings at community and National levels
10. Participate in the project impact evaluation work and subsequent follow up on phases
11. Make periodic reports on mainstreaming male engagement activities in the project
12. Work within an agreed work plan and conditions and take lead in meeting project targets
13. Liaise and coordinate with district authorities to ensure project interventions are aligns with district priorities advice


Required documents

  • At least a bachelor degree in social sciences and Gender studies
  • At least 5years of work experience in training on gender and social sciences related field (confirmed by last recent/current employer/s)
  • Varied experience in developing leaning materials and delivering trainings and other capacity building initiatives – (confirmed by one of the last /current employer)
  • Possession of a driving license (category A) is an added asset
  • Signed application letter, a detailed updated CV indicating names & contacts of 3 referees, a copy of the highest academic degree qualification, personal identification card/Passport

Skills

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people in communities
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated commitment to participatory approaches
  • Excellent written and spoken Kinyarwanda, English and or French
  • Ability to use computer to access information and prepare report
  • Ability to maintain effective working relations both as a team member and ability to establish priorities and work plan
