TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF THE MUPAKA SHAMBA LETU PROJECT MANAGER ASSISTANT ON THE RUBAVU BORDER

Since May 2019 in partnership with Alert International, the CEJP has been implementing the “MUPAKA SHAMBA LETU” project, which aims to consolidate Peace through small cross-border trade in the Great Lakes Region, thanks to the financial support of SIDA and the SDC. To strengthen the implementation of the activities of this project, the CEJP would like to recruit an experienced and motivated facilitator who will assist the project manager in the organization and execution of activities in the District of Rubavu.

Description of the main tasks:

I. FIELD OFFICER / Animator

The purpose of this position is to support the project manager in the implementation of the activities of the Mupaka Shamba Letu project by providing permanent support to the groups of women small cross-border traders (FPCTs) in the consolidation process. of peace, strengthening economic empowerment and strengthening civic participation. The Field Officer / Animator will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager of his organization.

Description of the main tasks:

1. Collaborate closely with the Project Officer in the implementation of project activities;
2. Support the Project Officer in mobilization as well as their capacity building needs;
3. Ensure the weekly, monthly and quarterly planning and reporting of activities according to the schedule approved by International Alert;
4. Ensure the preparation of the site, make the necessary contacts and support in the implementation of project activities;
5. Participate with the Project Officer in the preparation of reports on activities carried out, the monthly / quarterly and annual report of the project according to the framework of International Alert;
6. Regularly report the progress made in the area of intervention;
7. Carry out monitoring and support visits to beneficiaries on the ground in the project intervention areas;
8. At the request of his superiors, perform other duties that may depend on his skills and in the interest of the project.

Qualifications, experience and skills

i. Have a university degree in development studies, rural development, social sciences, gender, other related field
ii. Have at least 2 years of experience in the economic empowerment of women;
iii. Have experience in business promotion, working with VSLAs / VSLAs and cooperatives;
iv. Have a good understanding of gender and conflict sensitivity approaches and how to apply them;
v. Have experience in facilitating dialogues and training workshops
vi. Have a mastery of French and the local language. Knowledge of English and the languages of cross-border areas is an asset;
vii. Have knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet;
viii. Residing in the Project intervention area is a mandatory condition to be able to closely support women small cross-border traders;
