E-Learning Assistant
Job Title: E-learning Assistant
Social media management services
Reports To: E-learning Coordinator
Location: Butaro Campus
Reporting to the Coordinator of E-learning, the E-learning Assistant will assist with the development and growth of UGHE’s E-learning efforts. This growing team will work closely with academic departments and faculty at UGHE to create and maintain high quality E-learning systems and content for a variety of health professional education programs at UGHE. This role is fast paced, requires strong communication skills and experience with instructional, graphic and video design. The E-learning Assistant will be based on the UGHE campus in Butaro.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serves as first point of contact for inbound E-learning requests from academic teams at UGHE, including but not limited to the MBBS program, MGHD program, nursing/midwifery programs, EQDC and executive education
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with academic teams at UGHE to ensure clear lines of communication in and out of the program for E-learning
- Assists with execution of the E-learning program’s vision and strategic plan, at the direction of the E-learning Coordinator.
- Works closely with E-learning Coordinator to develop SOPs to ensure LMS user support requests are organized and responded to in a timely fashion
- Helps vet new potential subscriptions and manages partnerships with third party vendors as needed within the E-learning program
- Develop and maintain a body of knowledge on emerging trends and educational standards in areas such as active learning, technology-enhanced learning, reflective practice and workplace learning
- Coordinates logistics related to online course development, including but not limited to working with content experts, visiting faculty/advisors, scheduling studio time, and finalizing/distributing course materials
- Track and report on project milestones and deliverables and facilitate communication between the eLearning program and its stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to the E-learning program, including preparation of reports and maintaining records as needed
- Works closely as a member of the UGHE E-learning team, and assists with general team responsibilities and tasks assigned by E-learning Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (i.e., Information technology, multimedia development, curriculum development, instructional design, teaching and learning, higher education)
- Experience with curriculum development
- Experience editing documents
- Experience with digital/multimedia design and development (video, audio, interactive software)
- Some project management experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- English proficiency required
- French and/or Kinyarwanda proficiency preferred
