Disaster Technical Advisory

Job description
The Disaster Technical Advisor will provide technical overview and practical knowledge on disaster management, make recommendations to supervisor and managers on actions to be taken in technical scope.
He/She will ensure that all work is done in accordance with all required documentation, manuals and compliance with regulation.

Duties And Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Disaster Program Manager, the Contractor shall have the following duties:

• Participate in setting up a Monitoring and Evaluation system for MINEMA partners’ projects
• Assess and ascertain whether partners’ projects related to disaster resilience are supportive of national and local development goals;
• Monitor if partners’ projects implemented with MINEMA are in line with guiding principles and the code of conduct defined by the Disaster Management Policy;
• Identify potential problems/issues linked with Disaster preparedness and resilient recovery projects implementation for remedial actions and to elevate un-resolved issues and problems to the direct hierarchy for resolution and final action;
• provide information on lessons learned in partners’ projects implemented with MINEMA implementation for planning and implementation of future similar project;
• Propose corrective actions to the project implementing agent based on the above.
• Design new projects in line with the core mission of the Ministry;
• Provide technical advises on DRRM related projects

Minimum Qualifications
• bachelor's degree in Disaster Risk Management
3 Years of relevant experience

• master's degree in Disaster Risk Management Science
1 Year of relevant experience
• master's degree in Disaster Management
1 Year of relevant experience
