Our client, Sonarwa General Insurance Company Limited (Sonarwa General), is a general insurance service provider situated in Rwanda. The company has embarked on a transformational journey that seeks to grow the business. As a result, Sonarwa General is seeking to recruit highly competent and professional individual to fill the position of Claims Officer, Recoveries.
Reporting to the Manager Claims, The Claims Officer- Recoveries will be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient General Insurance claims service to ensure claims related matters are dealt within the time scales. .
Roles & Responsibilities
• Initiate third party recoveries on behalf of the company through issuance of demand letters, documentation and negotiations;
• Prepare Discharge Vouchers on full documented and negotiated Third party claims;
• Process executed third party claim discharge vouchers;
• Register all third party claims, call for documentation and the applicable policy excess from the insured upon receipt of third party demand letters;
• Respond to customer enquiries made through phone and email;
• Assist our Insured’s who are insured third party only recovery by doing demand letters on their behalf;
• Accurately post, maintain and review claim reserves on a continuous basis to ensure sufficient amount is set aside for payment of claims;
• Contact policyholders about claims and may provide information regarding the amount of benefits;
• Negotiate payment to all parties and follow up to ensure that payments are made in a timely manner;
• Advice claimants regarding basic matters about their insurance coverage in relation to the insurance claim;
• Prompt registration and acknowledgement of new claims in the system to ensure they comply with the set turnaround times;
• Process payment of claims within the set service levels to avoid losses ;
• Prepare weekly and monthly claims reports for presentation to the Manager for review; and
• Participate in review of claim reserves to ensure they met the set requirements for payment.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s’ degree in a business related field
• Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII)
• Minimum of 4 (four) years’ experience in claims management
