Call for Expressions of Interest to conduct the Wellspring Foundation for Education’s Rwanda Office 2021 Financial Audit for tax compliance and annual filing with RRA

The Wellspring Foundation for Education is a Christian INGO that is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, and has been a stakeholder serving the people of Rwanda for over a decade.  We invest in building the capacity of teachers, parents, and educational leaders at all levels so that Rwandan children can access higher quality education that will empower them for their future. 

We presently serve in 100 schools in Rubavu District with a team of 25 staff members, and in 60 schools in Gasabo District along with extensive work at the National level with a team of 24 staff members based in Kigali.  Our annual expenses across both our headquarters in Gasabo and our branch office in Rubavu is approximately $1.2million USD in 2021. Our Finance Team consists of one Director of Operations, one Senior Finance Manager, one Finance Officer, and one Finance and Operations Manager for our Rubavu office.

As an INGO we have consistently sought to fulfill all of our legal and moral responsibilities of stewardship and accountability and we have an annual financial audit that has been undertaken in Canada.  In the context of the requirements from the Government of Rwanda for INGOs to have a local financial audit for tax compliance and filing a return with RRA, we now call for expressions of interest from qualified and locally registered firms to undertake this process starting in February 2021.

Scope of work:

• To help establish the “opening balance” for 2021.
• To conduct a full financial audit for tax compliance and filing with RRA for 2021 on all of our Rwanda operations to be completed by the end of February 2022.
