SOS Children’s Villages through Kura Umenye programme is implementing a remedial learning programme in which it is seeking a competent and experienced external consultant who, in a period of three academic years (2022- 2025) will support in the development and customization of the teacher training manuals and other supporting documents that will facilitate the programme implementation. Additionally, the consultant will support in the development of the parents’ training manual (booklet) and will also provide experienced facilitators who will regularly, hold remedial learning trainings and/or workshops to different stakeholders as it is well stipulated in the scope of work.
1.2. Main objectiveSOS Children’s Villages Rwanda, through Kura Umenye- remedial learning programme, is seeking proposals from reputable and experienced (in the domain of remedial learning and/or catch-up programme instructional designing) consultancy firms to submit their proposals for carrying out customization of Teacher Training Manuals, development of the remedial learning Monitoring and Evaluation tools and the Parents training Facilitator’s Guide
1.3 Scope of assignmentThe consultancy services for remedial learning program will be held at different times and in different locations (given where the participants are). The program stakeholders to be trained on different times and sessions on remedial learning programme, as they are well described below, will be in Kayonza, Rwamagana, Bugesera, Gasabo, Musanze, Gicumbi, Nyamagabe and Huye districts.
The material development will be done once and for all within a period of 22 calendar days maximum, whereas for the trainings to be facilitated for the remedial learning stakeholders, will be carried out regularly as it is indicated in the table of duties and responsibilities.
1.4 Expected deliverablesThe consultancy firm will:
• Customize child-centered teacher training manuals for remedial learning classes
• Develop remedial learning Monitoring and Evaluation tools to be used for children, teacher mentors respectively
• Develop parent facilitator’s training guide (with focus on positive parenting, peace building, gender-based violence, and child rights and protection)
• Facilitate training sessions on remedial learning programme for different programme stakeholders at different times.
