Branch Development Manager

Position: Branch Development Manager - Rubavu Branch Department: Branch Network & Distribution Reports To: Branch Network & Distribution Manager

Job purpose: Responsible for managing & ensuring the Branch meets the financial service needs of customers in the assigned community market area; implementing strategies to achieve goals for the Branch as part of the Banks overall strategic plan; ensuring the Branch is compliant with operating policies and procedures as per the regulatory requirements.

Key deliverables for this role are:
• Advocate of the Bank's brand in and outside the branch
• Drive branch business growth, sales and profit targets.
• Ensures that the branch has reasonable staff productivity and that are trained to meet
• customer service needs as well as sales objectives.
• A certain that all branch operations are performed in accordance with established Bank Policies and procedures,
• Make recommendations for changes/improvements as appropriate.
• Provides for the proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the branch supervises the opening and closing of the branch and vault;
• Ensure monthly Branch meetings & leaming sessions are held.
• Ensure proper filing and safe storage of branch documents
• Maintain regular communication to the team, enforcement of controls and compliance of banks procedures (esp. on KYC & AML), train on new products and customer service refresher, etc.
• Responsible for branch sales performance, and in liaison with other department orients customers to other Bank's services as appropriate
• Managing staff performance in terms of Smart objectives, appraisals & productivity.
• Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the Bank and/ or their jobs,
• Ensure security of the branch and liaise with the Bank's Security office for escalation


Knowledge, skills and Experience Required:
• Graduate in Finance, Business, Marketing, or related field
• A minimum of Five (5) years' experience in Banking (Sales & Relationship Management)

Skills: Communication Skills
• Good understanding of Banking law, and BNR regulations,
• Demonstrated People management skills and supervisory skills thorough Bank products and services knowledge
• Knowledge of Bank operating policies and procedures
• Ability to train, coach and mentor the team
• Customer Centric with a strategic business perspective/mind se
• Proficient interpersonal relations, and sales skills.
• Be computer literate with proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
• Sound knowledge of the Bank's lending and credit policies
• Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English, French is an added advantage
• Flexibility to work in any of our upcountry branches
