Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Operations
• Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
• Ensure proper grooming always as per resort policy.
• Organize and attend daily operation briefing.
• Constantly strive to please all guests that he/she may meet during work hours.
• Ensure through effective supervision that all services offered in the Housekeeping Department are always available and are carried out with the utmost efficiency and courtesy as per the Departmental Operations Manual.
• Liaise with the Laundry and Engineering Departments to ensure the smooth flow of linen supplies and repair work.
• Liaise with the Front Office on anticipated guest check ins, check outs, room assignments and rooming list etc.
• Conduct periodic inspections of all resort areas to check the cleaning standard.
• Be responsible for the inventory of guest supplies, linen, uniforms, and the ordering and replacement when necessary.
• Be responsible for ordering cleaning supplies and guest supplies and to check that they are handled, and stored correctly with the designed par stock.
• Suggest recommendations to management for modernization of equipment, cleaning methods and the set ups of guest supplies.
• Liaise with the resort’s contracted companies for pest control in order to ensure an effective programme is constituted and maintained.
• Ensure all guest rooms are checked prior to the arrival of the guest for 100% readiness.
• Oversees and carries out training for team leaders and team members when required.
• Train all Colleagues for resort emergency procedures and first aid as per resort standards.
• Maintains and monitor up to date team records.
• Coach, counsels and lead staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
• Oversees departmental expenses ensuring inventories of operating equipment, linen and supplies are maintained and correct stock is kept for all Public areas and related areas.
• Flexible in working hours and scheduling as per resort requirements.
• Carries out any other job related duties as requested by the resort.
Food and Beverage
• Assist as necessary in providing uniforms and decorations for special theme parties and other promotions.
• Liaise with Restaurant Manager for cleaning and uniform requests.
Colleague Handling
• Ensure all Colleagues report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
• Assist in the building of an efficient team of Colleagues by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and development.
• Supervise the department's orientation programme for new Colleagues to make sure that they understand the policy and procedure of the resort.
• Conduct training courses with the co-ordination of Lodge Manager for new Colleagues, and regular "Refresher" courses for newly hired and existing Colleagues.
• Conduct Colleague evaluations for all Housekeeping Colleagues to review their general performance, discuss existing performance and areas of improvements.
• Interview new potential Colleagues in liaison with the HR Department.
• Ensure that all Colleagues have a complete understanding of and adhere to the resort's policy and procedures.
• Ensure that Housekeeping Colleagues are familiar with in-house facilities for the purpose of assisting guests.
Administration
• Ensure all departmental reports and correspondence are completed punctually and accurately.
• Manage proper control of master keys of the hotel.
• Set proper handling and control of lost and found items.
• Implement proper requisitioning and controlling of supplies.
• Assign of work and side duties to Housekeeping Colleague
