AGGP established its presence in East Africa based out of Kigali, Rwanda and seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Accountant to deliver on this vision.
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Accountant will provide assistance in the Finance Department by performing a number of accounting duties such as the processing of accounts payable documentation, reconciliation of creditor statements, assist with cash and credit management and general administration.
Primary Functions
1. Procurement and supplier management
• Request and receive invoices from various functional areas
• Process supplier invoices for payment
• Prepare accounts payable documentation for review and payment
• Process payment batches in SAGE/ACCPAC
• Reconcile statements received from suppliers
• Investigate queries on supplier invoices
• Maintain and update the Philanthropy’s Supplier list
2. Month End Close process
• Maintain fixed assets including the fixed assets register, reconciliation and verification
• Balance sub-ledger with control account in General Ledger
• Process journals for month – end close out
• Maintain financial records of all transactions
3. Cash and Banking
• Reconcile bank statements
• Reconciliation of Bank of Kigali Credit Cards facilities
• Process electronic transfers
4. Fees and Allowances
• Maintenance and Reconciliation of fees and allowances paid
5. Year End
• Assist with the year – end close and audit process
Job Requirements
• Relevant Higher Learning Diploma or Degree
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role
