Broadband Systems Corporation, PLC (BSC) is a licensed Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is incorporated under the laws and regulations of the Republic of Rwanda.
The company is engaged in the business of providing advanced Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) services based on broadband connectivity.
In order to effectively accomplish its business objectives, BSC PLC is looking for four (4) qualified and competent candidates to fill the position of “Field Engineer“

About The Role
Position: Field Engineer
Directly Reports to: Project Manager
Period: 18 months

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute project schedule and plan daily progress achievement for fiber and LAN site surveys.
• Organize and mobilize implementation team for fiber and LAN deployment.
• Supervise subcontractors.
• Ensure the project meets required standards, contractor’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the site work does not present a hazard to the health or safety of workers, traffic, pedestrians, or the general public.
• Ensure projects materials are available as per the implementation plan.
• Provide daily implementation report and workload progress.
• Advise sub-contractor in accordance to the design and ensure the escalation is done in accordance to the contractual terms.
• Ensure the record of all project activities are accurate.
• Site Commissioning.
• Perform site acceptance according to checklist and test plan for OSP and site.
• Prepare Inspection and Approval of OSP project Material from client.
• As-built documents output and handover for OSP and LAN.

• The understanding of fiber planning and installation.
• Worked in LAN.
• Field networks experience.
• Ability to be a team player and approved integrity.

• Ability to leverage technology trends and to deliver results using innovative solutions.
• Strong customer interaction, written & verbal communication, project skills, time management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and working under minimum supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure. Requirements:
• University degree in telecommunication, IT or a related technical field or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience managing Fiber and LAN installation project for A2 holder and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Fiber works and related works for a A0 holder.
• Have skills in aerial fiber and standards of working in electrical line.
• Possesses great reporting skills.
• Skills and techniques necessary to distinguish exposed live parts from other parts of electrical equipment.
• Skills and techniques necessary to determine the nominal voltage of exposed live parts.
• Skills and techniques necessary to determine the minimum approach distances
• corresponding to the voltages to which they are exposed.
• Proper usage of the special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment (PPE), insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools for working on or near exposed energized parts of electrical equipment.
• Good communication skills for both verbal and written in English.
• Valid driving license (Minimum Category B)
• Possession of following professional certificates would be added value: Working on high, Certified Quality Assurance

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
