Position: Relationship Manager
Department: Business Banking unit
Reports To: Head of Business Banking
Job purpose:
To drive, support and coordinate the performance of the allocated portfolio to achieve its sales, targets, wallet share and ensure consistent business growth and profitability; to sell, cross/ up sell and excellent delivery of the Bank’s products and services whilst building long term profitable customer relationships.

• Constantly monitor the existing credit portfolio of loan accounts to maintain them as performing assets
• Accountable and responsible for the delivery of set targets for deposits, risk assets, transactions and revenue and the effective management of Customers.
• Continually seek new opportunities to market services and bring in new customers by thoroughly understanding the marketing and economic environment.
• Track and maintain allocated performance records including call reports, deposits, risk assets, incomes, and all relevant performance indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis including timely submissions as when due by the supervisor and relevant senior bank staff.
• Advice/update customers on all tariffs, policies, procedures and any other changes to products or accounts.
• Put in place on annual basis, an approved target market document with complete information on customer segmentation, target names, products, services, revenues, and profitability.
• Responsible for driving up the credit portfolio and overall cross-selling of various bank products.
• Supervising the origination, negotiation, structuring and monitoring of credit facilities.
• Ensure all overdraft and facilities are current and all credit transactions are duly approved per policy within acceptable TAT.
• Share knowledge and best practice with team members including sales staff in branches.
• Advice/update customers on all tariffs, policies, procedures and any other changes to products or accounts.
• Own customer complaints and resolution process in portfolio and collect all past due obligations.
• Any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
• A University degree in Business Administration or related courses.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in lending or similar environment, preferably in a relationship management role in a financial institution.
• Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and evaluate business performance in relation to set objectives.
• Sound knowledge and proven experience in credit operations.
• Strategic and a creative thinker.
• Bank or relevant operations, sales, and relationship management experience
• Ability to coach and train staff under supervision.
