Introduction
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federally owned international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GIZ has worked in Rwanda for over 30 years. The primary objectives between the Government of Rwanda and the Federal Republic of Germany are poverty reduction and promotion of sustainable development. To achieve these objectives, GIZ Rwanda is active in the sectors of Decentralization and Good Governance, Economic Development and Employment Promotion, Energy, and ICT (Information and Communications Technology).

Context
The “Economic Inclusion of Refugees and Host Communities” Project, implmented by GIZ in collaboration with the Government of Rwanda, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and other partners, seeks to promote the economic inclusion of refugees and inhabitants of selected neighboring communities.
The regional focuses of the project are the Mahama, Mugombwa, and Kigeme refugee camps and the neighboring communities, as well as the urban refugee communities in Huye and Kigali. The project is part of the special initiative ‘Tackling the root causes of displacement – reintegrating refugees’ that is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The project aims to improve the economic inclusion of refugees and host communities through a combination of measures to enhance the framework conditions at national and local levels, the promotion of the local economy and start-ups of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the expansion of entrepreneurial activities and professional upgrading.
Parallel to entrepreneurship promotion and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) activities, the project is aiming at strengthening the capacity of select production units located in the three above-mentioned camps and their host districts through purchasing a set of equipment that can help select production units boost their businesses and generate additional employment opportunities for TVET graduates who have just completed their training in different trades. It is in that perspective that GIZ is looking for a supplier to procure the following equipment as detailed below:

• Testing the equipment and the sample of the final product (for the obtention of the licence to operate from Food and Drug Authority /FDA)

• Proof of site visit approved by the project on Wednesday, November 10th , 2021
