JOB DETAILS:

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Producing high quality short testimonial videos
  2. Capturing success stories (written with photographs)
  3. Produce program newsletters
  4. Designing high quality and attractive program brochures, flyers and booklets
  5. Support in organizing (global) events: by preparing program blogs, designing pull up banners and tear drops for particular events e.g. Rural Woman’s Day, Day of the African Child etc.
  6. Document fields visit involving beneficiaries and partners
  7. Ensure maintenance and management of social media platforms, news and events sections in social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc… and put in place strategies to increase the number of followers/subscribers
  8. Conduct an aggressive media outreach campaign to raise awareness of Help a Child’s work in Rwanda
  9. Provide news releases to radio, television, and electronic media.
  10. In collaboration with the internation communication team, write articles on project activities including technical notes, activity reports, success stories, best practices and lessons learned.
  11. Collaborate with the management to disseminate information to key donors and local media outlets as appropriate.
  12. Prepare case studies and other project relates documentation.
  13. Develop other communication tools (newsletters, factsheets, project briefs, and info graphics) as needed.
  14. Translate and write information data into suitable language for a lay audience as appropriate.
  15. Liaise with meda personel to publicize Help a Child activities.
  16. Ensure Help a Child and project branding guidelines are adhered to.
  17. Contribute to the development and preparation of annual and quarterly reports and other reports to the donors; edit documents.
  18. Provide secretarial work to Country Director’s office on daily basis
  19. Perform any other duty assigned by the Country Director

Qualification and personal specifications:

  1. Preferably a degree in Communications, Journalism or related field;
  2. Knowledge and experience of social media and online platforms.
  3. Good coordination and facilitation skills;
  4. Ability to work with people from different levels of society;
  5. Ability to cope with stressful, delicate and possibly unstable situations;
  6. Strong communication skills, both verbally and written in English and the local language;
  7. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, interpersonal and cross cultural sensitivity;
  8. Excellent communication, organizational, time management, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and pays attention to details.
  10. Ability to identify issues/needs, define solutions, and design innovative actions for solving the needs.
  11. Able to illustrate good integrity records and actions taken.
  12. Full support of the vision, mission, and Christian core values of Help a Child.
  13. Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented, and results-oriented.
  14. Open to Rwanda nationals only.
