JOB DETAILS: General Description of task(s) and objectives to be achieved Compile the outputs of the Organizational capacity and performance self-assessment, Prioritization and planning of key actions in a comprehensive report and share for feedback
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Rwanda, the direct supervision of the FAO Rwanda One Health Project Coordinator, close collaboration with FAO Rwanda Country Office and in direct collaboration with the Rwanda One Health Steering Committee (ROHSC), the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
As indicated in the background section the main role of the consultant will be facilitating and leading the whole process One Health Assessment for Planning and Performance (OH APP) with full participation of members of the OHSC and development partners
Preparation (5 working days)
Prepare a concept note on the overall process of the OH APP and with clear work plan specified by working days and reach agreement with the Rwanda OHSC and FAO
Conduct a desktop review of national documents, policies and strategies, and external reports relevant to the Rwanda OH platform. Ensure these documents are available for participants during self-assessment
Ensure the engagement of EPT 2 partners
Workshop preparation (concept note)
Self-assessment/ Prioritization and planning (3 working days)
Assist in the organization and facilitation of one day training of trainers (ToT) on Organizational capacity and performance self-assessment, Prioritization and planning of key actions
Assist in the organization and facilitation one day Real OH-APP on Organizational capacity and performance self-assessment, Prioritization and planning of key actions
Reporting (4 working days)
Submit the final report
Required Competencies
SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates will be assessed against the following:
Extent of experience in multidisciplinary OH approach (public health, animal health and the environment) to overcome the impact of diseases on the public and its livelihood and environment,
Good knowledge of governance in health sciences and multidisciplinary OH approach
Familiarity with multidisciplinary OH approach policy and strategies of the country
Computer application skills and capability of working with people of different professional backgrounds.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Candidates should meet the following:
Advanced degree in Public Health, Veterinary, Environment or in related fields;
At least 5 years of experience in health sciences, veterinary, environment; policy advocacy or in related fields;
Good knowledge of English and analytic writing skill;
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of governance in health sciences, multidisciplinary OH approach and its challenges;
Previous engagement with One Health Planning for Performance (P4P) Process and One Health Assessment for Planning and Performance (OH APP) tool.
