Terms of Reference for providing irrigation materials to the KOICA-AWEE Project beneficiaries

  1. About Better World Rwanda

Better World Rwanda is a Korean International Non-Governmental Organization, with priorities of Health and Sanitation, Rural Development, Sustainable Livelihood, and Education as its key missions. Currently, INGO is operating worldwide; in different countries such as Senegal, Turkey, Syria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nicaragua, and more. Its intervention includes community development, medical care, infrastructure, provision of nutritional necessities, and disaster relief.

In partnership with KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), Better World Rwanda wishes to support its 400 beneficiaries with irrigation materials through the KOICA-AWEE project.

  1. RFP Details

Better World Rwanda is seeking a financial proposal from registered and reputable companies to supply irrigation materials to Better World Rwanda in Rwamagana district [Mwulire and Munyiginya sectors]

  1. The objective of the activity

To provide irrigation materials to 400 beneficiaries of the KOICA-AWEE PROJECT in Rwamagana district by the 3rd week of July 2024 to reduce the impact of weather-related fluctuations in crop production.

  1. Target group

400 females(beneficiaries) from Rwamagana district in 3 cells of Mwulire sector (Ntunga, Bushenyi, and Mwulire cells) and 4 cells of Munyiginya sector (Binunga, Nkomangwa, Bwana, and Nyarubuye cells)

  1. Expected key results.

Providing irrigation materials to poor households can have significant and wide-ranging impacts such as:

  • Irrigation will enable the cultivation of a wider variety of crops, including those that require more water, leading to a more varied diet and potentially higher income from diverse produce.
  • Irrigation will help farmers adapt to changing climate patterns, making their livelihoods more resilient.
  1. Timeline and delivery period

The irrigation materials will be purchased in the 3rd week of July 2024, and the contracted supplier is expected to deliver all items within the period not exceeding seven days after getting the Contract. The supplier will deliver these materials to the Project implementation areas (Rwamagana district, Mwulire, and Munyiginya sectors in the above-mentioned cells)

  1. Application and Requirements

We invite all interested suppliers to submit the following documents:

  1. A proposed delivery schedule/time frame
  2. Provision of recent three good completion certificates of similar supplies (3 past years). They should have a total value of above 100 million Rwandan francs.
  3. Experience of at least 5 years
  4. Copy of RDB certificate
  5. Copy of VAT certificate
  6. Valid Tax clearance
  7. Valid RSSB certificate
  8. Valid Good standing certificate
  9. Credit line of at least 60 million (promise of credit line is not allowed)
  10. Detailed quotation including VAT and transport to the location above-mentioned
