Pro- Femmes /Twese Hamwe (PF/TH) in partnership with Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace), with the financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is implementing the project on “Empowering Women in Informal Cross-Border Trade (EWICBT)” in The Great Lakes Region, between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The project started in December 2019 and activities are being implemented in Goma/Rubavu, Bukavu/Rusizi and Kamanyola/Bugarama borders with the aim of contributing to socio-economic empowerment of women in informal cross border trade between DRC and Rwanda. This is being achieved through improving their business environment and increasing their income and their socio-economic welfare.
In line with the above expected results, the EWICBT project is built on a holistic approach towards improving the legal / policy framework and access to legal aid services; strengthening entrepreneurial and financial capacity; and increasing access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for WICBT.
Since the inception of the EWICBT project, a lot of progress has been recorded towards achieving its intended outcomes in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Therefore, it is paramount to carefully document these achievements to serve as learning and sharing products to a variety of audiences within the project life and beyond. It is on this note that PFTH is seeking a highly qualified consultant who will provide technical and advisory services in reporting, documentation, and communication of project achievements, success stories, and lessons learnt along with the project implementation.
