It does so by strengthening and supporting women’s rights organisations (organizational, thematically and economical). Kvinna till Kvinna is organised around three departments – Programme/Field, Communication, and Support. Through its Headquarter in Stockholm, Sweden, and 11 country offices, it supports more than 100 women’s rights organisations in five different regions (Western Balkans, South Caucasus, Middle East and North Africa, West and Central Africa).

1. Organisation and Background Information
The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation is a Swedish non-profit organization that supports women in conflict affected areas to increase women’s power and influence. Kvinna till Kvinna’s approach is based on strong local ownership and long-term support.
Kvinna Till Kvinna is currently running a four-year Sida funded programme Dufatanye gushimangira impinduka zubahiriza uburenganzira bw’umugore mu Rwanda, 2021-2024 (Working together to reinforce change for the respect of women’s rights in Rwanda, 2021-2024). The programme has four outcomes: (1) Partners organizations are stronger, more effective and work more strategically and collaboratively; (2) Improved protection from gender-based violence with a specific focus on prevention; (3) Rights holders and duty bearers have an increased understanding and respect for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); (4) Enhanced qualitative participation of women in decision making and conflict resolution.
2. AssignmentKvinna till Kvinna is recruiting for a roster of interpreter consultants qualified to provide simultaneous interpretation services from English into Kinyarwanda or vice versa as needed during the Kvinna till Kvinna activities. These may include interviews, focus group or other discussions, or story-telling among others.
3. Timeframe & Location As a consultant, you will be called upon as needed to provide services in various locations where Kvinna till Kvinna is visiting/working. This could be anywhere in the country and may include overnight travel.
If the consultant is based in Kigali, all travel will originate from Kvinna till Kvinna’s Office in Kigali.
We are also open to receiving applications from interpreters based in the following Districts:
• Huye District
• Rubavu District
• Musanze District
• Nyagatare District
The assignment will be scheduled according to the internally planned activities and communicated to the consultant as early as possible for her / his planning.
4. Qualification and experience needed• Bachelor’s degree in languages with specialization in translation and/or interpretation
• Proven experience in simultaneous translation / interpretation from English into Kinyarwanda or vice versa
• Proven experience working with international non-governmental organizations or other international public entities
• Familiarity with English and Kinyarwanda vocabulary relating to gender equality and women’s rights.
