Terms Of Reference (Tors) For Recruiting Communication Consultant For Fawe Rwanda Chapter 1.Background
The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a membership-based Pan-African Non-Governmental Organization that operates through 34 National Chapters in 33 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa to promote girls’ and women’s education. FAWE’s vision, mission and goal focus on quality of education for girls and women socio-economic empowerment. FAWE Rwanda is one of the 34 national chapters. FAWE Rwanda Chapter was started in 1997 and since its inception, FAWE Rwanda has grown to become a reputable partner and focal point on female education in Rwanda.
FAWE Rwanda Chapter would like to recruit a communication consultant for a period of 3 months to train staff and support the implementation of our communications strategy. The details for the assignment are shown below:
Overall Objective Of The Communication ConsultancyThe main objective of this communication consultancy is to coach, train on the job and support FAWE to execute the FAWE communications strategy activities in order to increase our partnerships engagements and to improve the visibility of FAWE Rwanda chapter.

• Conduct FAWE communications audit and based on the gaps, address the identified areas for improvement.
• Train FAWE Staff in a range of communication and visibility skills
• Train FAWE staff in writing writing impact stories
• Re-design the FAWE-Rwanda’s identity (branding and image)
• Create communication and visibility materials (including information packs)
• Support with the updating of webpages for different programs and content generation for all FAWE social platforms ensuring increase in viewership and following.
• Support and guide the improvement of FAWE annual report
• Support and guide the improvement of FAWE monthly newsletter
• Support the Production of infographics and other data visualization materials
Deliverables• FAWE Communications audit and a training report
• Design a three-months communications coaching program to FAWE staff (with measurable transferability of skills such as but not limited to monthly newsletter, maintenance of social media platforms, updating the website.
• Branding and communications materials for FAWE communications strategy including Production of infographics and other data visualization materials
• Improved and updated website and all FAWE social platform content
• A designed sample FAWE monthly news letter
1. Supervision and Reporting
• The communication consultant shall be under the supervision and directly report to the National Coordinator of FAWE Rwanda Chapter.
Submission ProcedureInterested candidates are requested to submit the following:
1. Motivation letter with details on the proven relevant past experience and qualifications.
2. Signed and stamped certificates of good completion for similar work (at least 3 certificates) especially in reputable NGOs.
3. CV that shows specific expertise and achievements relevant to the assignment.
4. A Statement on the understanding of the TORs and the assignment (one Page)
5. A technical proposal including the methodology/approach and work plan for carrying out the assignment you are applying for.
6. Financial proposal in Rwandan Francs (Tax Inclusive).
7. Degree or certificates in communications.
