ARC presently works in and with partners in ten countries globally.
ARC has consistently operated in Rwanda since 1994, and today has a strong and committed team of over 200 regular, full-time national staff and partners – implementing programs in Primary health care, RH, HIV and Nutrition, WASH, Shelter/Infrastructure, and SGBV & Protection.

Our work in Rwanda currently covers all the refugee locations and their kind Rwandan-host communities. And we are always looking to deepen our work and, jointly with our partners, offer lasting impact with and for the communities we serve!
ARC is looking for qualified, self-driven and committed individuals to join our team in the stated position – based at and to serve full time in the new Gashora Emergency Transit Centre, Bugesera District – Rwanda.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Under the leadership and guidance of the program’s Education Officer, program teachers implement, track and report on the program’s language, non-formal and accelerated formal education interventions. The non-formal education program focuses on applied life skills for refugees and asylum seekers, including English language instruction and coaching for program participants; also skills development for enterprise or income-generating activities for improved livelihood and wellbeing. Additional interventions will be added to the program in due course. .

Key Responsibilities
• Lead in implementing the program’s gender-responsive and participant-driven language, non-formal and accelerate education interventions
• Effectively implement the program’s life skills interventions
• Effective delivery of an intensive English, French and Kinyarwanda Language learning and coaching components
• Develop and implement needed educational contents, processes and materials
• Actively participate and guide on the identification of new program opportunities, needs and gaps, and support address as well as in the design of new related efforts
• Support in co-curricular activities such as in sports, social activities, clubs, and learner groups, working collaboratively with the program’s Sports Facilitator
• Responsible for all education components tracking, reporting, and documentation


Skills, Behaviors
• Demonstrated experience in non-formal education design and delivery in low resource settings
• Extensive knowledge of Rwanda country education system, policies, and strategies
• Good command of Child Rights, Child Protection Policies
• The capable communicator in English; including written
• Conversance with French, Tigrinya and/or Arabic an added advantage
• Self-motivated and client-orientated with a strong sense of personal ethics, integrity, and quality
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
• High level of flexibility and tolerance to ambiguity


Required Experience:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education from reputable university
• Minimum of three years of direct experience in education delivey
