Background
AOS LTD is a Service Provider that was established from the Joint Venture between the Government of Rwanda and Korea Telecom and is incorporated under the laws and regulations of the Republic of Rwanda. The company is engaged in the business of providing advanced Information and Communication Technology (“ICT”) services based on a state-of-the-art Data Center, System development and Integrations, e-Government projects implementation and Consulting among others.

Position
Senior System/DBMS Administrator
Roles and Responsibilities
The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for Administration/Managing/Installing and Configuring Linux Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu and Windows Servers with Oracle Database Administration
• Install and Configure Linux cluster on Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu to maintain application
• Analyze performance, support, and detect issues for system architecture
• Perform all patches and update for servers, appliances, and devices
• Develop and adhere to team project standards for setting the server with configuration for the Web-based solution
• Prepare server, hardware or software specifications, and test plans
• Provide technical documentation updated to the latest enhancement or release of the system
• Review the current system architecture, including network configuration
• Provide, define and meet business requirements
• Perform installations and configurations web/DBMS server on Virtual Infrastructure
• Serve as system administrator for different initiatives
• Direct installation of OS, network or application software, computer, or network hardware
• Define and analyze the objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of new technology implementations
• Monitor server performance and provide security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance as needed
• Assist users to diagnose and solve data communication problems
• Set up user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access to ensure confidentiality and proper use
• Perform data backups and maintenance of the databases
• Design query and create reports for internal customers and/or clients as requested
• Create, build and configure the server on the virtual machine/bare metal server
• Work with various Rwanda government institutions for their system/configuration needs
• Work with foreign companies for the solution environment
• Assess existing system circumstances and provide a formal assessment report
• May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skill sets:
• At least, more than 1-year professional experiences of the system administrator in medium to large enterprise systems
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in DBMS such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and NoSQL.
• Solid knowledge of server, DBMS and network equipment and applications
• Knowledge of database construction and security principles and best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge in Windows Server families and Linux server families
• Cloud infrastructure support such as Microsoft Azure, VMWare or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Ability to provide support for after hours and weekend maintenance activities when required
• Incident and problem analysis expertise
• Complete software and hardware enhancements and upgrades
• Provide reporting on system availability and reliability
Education/ Experience
• 4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum); and/or
• should have at least 1-3 years of progressive experience in the various server system; and/or
• Experience in Oracle DBMS, Linux, Windows Server, and cloud computing skills/experience desired or an equivalent combination of work experience and education would be plus
Certifications Preferred:
• OCA/OCP/OCM (Oracle Certified)
• Linux Professional Institute Certification
