Your tasks:
• You will support our 20-strong team in our country office in Kigali (Rwanda) as a consultant as soon as possible and work closely with the local project partners.

• Your tasks include the development of business plans for the Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) and for the central institute, change management advice and the introduction of uniform processes in the new institutes as well as the development and implementation of training programs for SACCO Employees (physically and digitally based)

Your skills:
• Banking expertise - degree in finance / economics and several years of professional experience, if possible in various specialist areas of savings banks or comparable institutes,
• Intercultural competence and empathy - you pay close attention to local requirements and use your expertise in a targeted manner. You develop and implement concepts at eye level with the local project partners. Experience in an international context is desirable
• Consulting competence - ideally you have experience as a consultant in organizational development and corporate planning for financial institutions as well as in the field of e-learning and project management,
• Strong communication skills - You can also explain complex relationships in an understandable and professional manner in English and act sensitively and diplomatically in an intercultural and political environment. Knowledge of French is an advantage.

The project:

The Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung supports the professionalization of over 400 savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOs) in Rwanda. Currently, for example, with the introduction of core banking software and the subsequent merger of smaller institutions. In the longer term, a central institute based on the model of a Landesbank or Girozentrale is to be founded. The close cooperation with a training academy ensures that the SACCO employees receive professional training. The professionalization program offers around three million customers nationwide extensive financial services that support them in their economic development.
