Viamo has been in Rwanda since 2017. Mobile penetration rates show a steady increase in recent years with 89.3% mobile subscriptions and 71% of households owning a mobile phone. This is higher than radio or television ownership, which is 40.4% and 13.6% respectively. Given Viamo’s existing penetration in this market, relationship with telecoms, and use of Interactive Voice Response (IVR), we are uniquely positioned to work in this context. In 2022 alone, we reached 2.32 million people in Rwanda through our services. Voice Artists and Recording: Scope of Work

Viamo is looking for an experienced, reliable and creative firm to provide recording services and talented voice actors for our work in Rwanda.We are looking for a fully tax/EBM compliant recording studio with voice actors to act and record scripts, with sound effects to portray realistic situations and a strong and creative interpretation of the script, which will be provided by Viamo. We also require clear recordings of menu items and other smaller scripts, which will be read clearly and at a moderate pace, to help our listeners navigate our services. 

The recording studio will be responsible for producing high-quality audio recording and production in MP3 and/or WAV formats, with female and male, adult and children voices, in Kinyarwanda, with accompanying sound effects. 

The company will be required to: 

• Recruit, contract, and manage the voice artists. The voice artists must be native speakers in the recorded language. The Service Provider should ensure that it has access to male and female adult, and male and female child voice artists, who are able to act, rather than simply read the scripts provided. Viamo will provide guidance on the age and gender of the voice artists for each of the assignments where necessary.
• All recordings must strictly adhere to the script. If errors are found that are emanating from the Client’s side, the Service Provider will not be liable.
• Any errors made during recordings or translations will be re-done at the time and cost of the Service Provider and within 48 hours or as agreed.
• Quality of translations and recordings - the Client reserves the right to return any recordings that are below standard with regards to grammar, spellings, accent, tone and audibility. The Service Provider shall, at his cost, re-record such returned recordings until the Client is satisfied.
• The Service Provider shall record the approved messages in voices preferred by the client. The client  reserves the right to reject the recording if it is of poor quality and does not match with the  approved script. The service provider shall, at his cost, fix the recording and return to client within  48 hours 
• The Service Provider shall remain available for any queries and questions from the Client during the  agreement period. 
• The Service Provider shall not present or share the scripts and recordings with any other party,  unless requested by the Client. 
• The service provider will provide all the recording to Viamo’s Program Manager for approval.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a recording company, in Rwanda
• Fluency in at least two languages (English, Kinyarwanda)
• Time-management skills
• Talented voice actors available - male, female voices of different ages. 
• Capacity to incorporate sound effects 
• Capacity to creatively turn a script into a compelling drama / dialogue. 
• Registered as a business and tax/EBM compliant in Rwanda. 
• Fluency in Swahili, French, Kirundi desirable
